We can think of resilience as the palm tree returning to upright after bending over and touching the ground during a hurricane. Or we can choose to think of resilience as the palm tree’s peculiar root system that grabs more ground creating a robust and heavy root ball. Resilience is not only about what happens after the event. Resilience is about how we prepare before the (next) event happens.
