A moment of inefficiency traded for long term acceleration

It will take longer than you think it should. There will be more questions than you anticipated. The result won’t be as good as you could have produced. It might cost more. Somebody higher up the food chain will make a comment.

So why not just do it yourself?

Because the product, whatever that is, is no longer your end goal. When you were a technician the product was your end goal. Now that you are a leader, things are different.

Your goal is not to do the things.

Your goal is to build, nurture, steer, and care for the team that does the things.

Whole new skillset with different metrics.

Stop being the genius with a 1,000 helpers. This is a recipe for burnout.

Instead, trade the “inefficiency” of the moment for long term acceleration.
