Sacrificing for the long game

If I had my choice between you agreeing with me in the short term, and agreeing with me in the long term, then I will always pick the long term.

Of course my ego wants both, but if you disagree with me in the short term? I can take that. I am focused on playing a longer game.

That’s where I want you to focus too. Long games sometimes require short term decisions that don’t make immediate sense. These decisions may feel like a waste of time, or a waste of money.

But, if we are focused on the long game and making today’s decisions from a long game perspective, then we are setting ourselves up for enduring success, not fleeting achievement.
