“Do your most valuable activity (MVA) when you are best.” This is my paraphrase of a quote from Daniel Pink. I listened to a podcast episode from him today. Pink’s latest book is When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing. We spend a lot of time figuring out what to do. We even spend at least some time figuring out why we should do it. This book looks at optimizing when we should do things. It turns out we should do our most valuable activity when we are best. Makes sense, right? Even seems simple. However, how many of us do something low value like email when we are best? How many of us hop on the socials media for a half hour when we are best? How many of us squander our best time? There are two keys to the message. Do the most valuable activity (assumes we know what that is). And, do it when you are best. So, what is your MVA? And, when are you best?
