Words do this

Words matter. The cliche is that talk is cheap. Action is what matters! And, to some extent, those who believe this have a point. Actions do matter. What I believe, though, is that no action can arise without the preceding thought. Thoughts that consist of words. The words you use give us a sneak peak into what you believe, what you value, and ultimately what you act on. Words of encouragement. Words of defeat. And, words take on a whole new meaning when you lead. People will listen to you very carefully when you assume that role. What you believe to be an off-handed comment might have just ruined somebody’s Friday. So, use your words with care. It’s always fine to say less. It’s always fine to be positive when things bend toward negativity. And, it’s always fine to reshape your beliefs by just changing the words we choose to use.
