When momentum strikes, take advantage!

This week, pay special attention to those brief times when there is wind at your back. Now, I am not talking about the literal wind. I am talking about those moments of momentum when, for whatever reason(s), you have that slight advantage. When you notice that slight advantage, I want you to exploit it. For instance, I noticed early on during my Sunday training run that I was keeping a better than usual pace. My legs felt good, my energy felt good, my mind felt good, the weather was right, etc. So, I decided to make the most of it and finished the day averaging a 30-second-per-mile faster pace. Not bad for an old guy trying to run far! So, notice those moments this week when you have that slight advantage. You are feeling good, things are gellin’ like Magellan, and the wind is at your back. Then, use up every ounce of that momentum. Who knows what might happen!
