Insights to help you create a compelling and connected culture

See it through their eyes

What most enticed you to make your last job change? Was it to realize a bright future, or to escape a dim reality? Were you motivated by the good of the new opportunity, or were you motivated by the bad of the current situation?

Why does this matter?

Though we are all different, many of us move faster to escape pain than we move to experience joy. If you have somebody on your team that you would like to keep on your team, try to see the world through their eyes.

Where are the pain points?

Where are the frustrations?

Who are the frustrations?

It’s not that we are trying to eliminate all the bad because that’s a fool’s errand. But, as leaders, we need to step out of ourselves to see things from another perspective.

If we do, we will find things that we can change. And, who knows, maybe we will stumble on that one thing that has been pushing people out the door for years.
